About the Pet Network
The Pet Network provides informative and entertaining television programming devoted to the wonderful world of pets. Pet lovers of all ages are now able to enjoy 24 hours of family programming about animals and the people who share their lives with them.
The channel's flagship show "Pet Central" is an exclusive TPN production featuring pet care advice, rare animal insight, quirky or interesting real-life stories, and a general focus on the dynamics of human – animal relationships. TPN programming also includes dramatic and comedic fictional films and television shows, as well as documentaries and studies on animal health and care, animal and environmental phenomena, and instructional or educational shows on pet training, behaviour, and communication.
In addition to providing pet tv for the Canadian television market, The Pet Network's parent company Stornoway Communications founded Pet Entertainment Products Incorporated (PEPI); the purpose of the new company is to develop and market innovative pet products to enhance the quality of life for pets and their human caretakers.
The first initiative on PEPI's agenda was to develop a video that would be of captivating interest to a dog. The Pet Network frequently receives comments from people relating the fact that their pets actually watch The Pet Network with them, because of the many animal images and sounds. Furthermore, because The Pet Network broadcasts Stanley Coren's "Good Dog" and other informational pet care and animal psychology programs, numerous emails are received related to the topics of separation anxiety and behavioural problems stemming from pet isolation. The concept of partnering with Dr. Stanley Coren to produce "Your Dog Companion" was partially based upon those viewer queries.
The PET NETWORK provides engaging programming about pet culture that will make you laugh, cry, learn and leave you begging for more. Check with your television provider to find out more about receiving The Pet Network as part of your entertainment package.
